Default broken headlight

Anyone break a headlight, from the back-side?A branch went around my tire and smacked the back of a bulb, busted it and the bucket it twists into,I think it is still salvagable though. How much is the headlight bucket?Anyone do any mods to keep this from happening or is this something that never(allmost)happens? Thanks.

Yep - I was backing up, a branch came up under the fender and knocked a bulb out and broke a piece off of the housing. Get a new bulb, silicone it into the housing so it won't fall out because of the tab that was broken off. Biggest problem was getting the water out of the housing - the vapor stayed in there and fogged up the lens. Finally got rid of that last bit by pouring alcohol into the housing to absorb the remaining water, then draining the alcohol out.

Of course, the cat wobbled around on the trail for a while after that...
