#1
Ok~here is the short background story.. My scrammy 500 ran just fine then I had my starter switch go bad..Took it to the dealer so I could get a new switch..they had it for three weeks..Got my scrammy back yesterday...and when I took it out for a ride it runs good except for when I punch down on the throttle..I give it full gas and it bogs down...I'm just not getting the full power out of it...any sugestions you guys have??? Its like it wants to go but it just gets held back from opening up...need some help!! have the day off and want it to be rollin by the end of the day!

Sounds like you might be running lean on the top end. My trailblazer did do the same thing, and I just turned the fuel/air mixture screw about 1/2 turn foward. Works perfect now.

If it ran ok when you took it in to the dealer and sat there for 3 weeks I would bet you got some dirt or gunk in the main jet .

easy
take it back to the dealer???
could be a short somewhere,,,or a bad switch,,,,,does it seem like the rev limiter is kicking in (like in reverse)
the air/fuel mixture screw wont help the top end (i wouldnt touch that)

Ya, I think its something with the air or fuel..or maybe even the spark plug..I'm going to take it apart tomorrow and check the jet and plug and the fuel screw..it just seems like it is running lean..and I could take it to the dealer..but honestly I don't want anything to do with that dealer anymore..I'm fed up with their crap..

Are you sure? after all, the ratio of fuel to air still is in play no matter how much throttle is down, and I think that applys especially at the top end, when alot of fuel and air is going into the cylinder. But im no mechanic. But I do know that my trailblazer was doing the same thing that he describes on his scrammy, and when I adjusted the screw it never did it again.

posistive,,,,,,,the air fuel screw adjusts the idle circuit (which is only the 1st 1/8th throttle)(as mentioned)
adjusting the main jet,,,will affect the top end (to match the amount of air coming thru the entire air intake)

Ok guys!! I got it running back to norm!! since it was the top end that was missing I figured that it had to be my main jet....well I yanked the whole carb out and took out the main jet.. it looked perfect but I hit it with some gunkout anyways and I cleaned everything else too...I put her back together and sure enough she ran good....thanks for your help guys
