Seriously Disappointed with my 02 Scrambler Mods
#1
OK Guys... Hope someone can help me! I have had my trail pipe, trail porting done on my bike, and I do not see the power gains that I have been reading here on the forum. In fact... it seems like it is slower. Its ok about mid range but nothing impressive for me to really see. It seemed like my bike was stronger when it was stock. I know I am running rich and I am going to rejet it this week. It stumbles real bad when I take off, and opens up at mid range. Just to let you know how disappointed in my bike I am, I just had a race with a stock warrior and we were even at the end of the race. He even got the jump on me for about 3 bike lengths. But I caught up to him and we stayed even. If this is all I can expect out of these mods then I just waisted a whole lot of $$$. So if anyone can offer help I would greatly appreciate it.

I suspect you are breaking things in , and , the builder (could be me) set you up on the rich side to start with . Combine that with stock clutching it may well be running wimpy .
Leave the stock clutching in during your break in , that will be easier on the fresh motor (lower RPMS) . After 3 hours install the clutch kit and then begin dialing in the carburetor.
Don't worry , it will run like everyone elses .

Rick, your customer service is awesome, you go out of your way to satisfy your customers, which is a rarety in todays society to some degree. So - I am not disappointed in you, I am just not happy with what I have got so far. Again... Thanks Rick for all of your help.

It's best to get the porting done from someone who is familiar with polaris and what rpm's the hpd and ritter pipes produce there power. Also if you have the stock clutching on, it's not going to run near as well as it does with a clutch kit that's designed to keep the quad in it's new power band.

Definately don't give up yet, I have a trail mod and race mod and the trail mod will handle a warrior easily as well as most other stock quads.

Well, I dont want to give up yet, thats why I started this post. I really like my bike, its been very reliable. But I hope you can see my point. Right now I think I have too much $$$ invested to just walk away. I appreciate the thoughts on the 39mm carb but I am not invest that money yet, until I can get where I am at straightened out. Hope you understand. I feel like I am putting $$$ into something that isnt paying off. I have put about 2k into this bike (that includes tires and wheels) to this point in time, with basically nothing but frustration to show for my investment. But I am still going to hang in there.

I've been where you are at so I know how you are feeling. It'll be tough to wipe the smile off once you get it right. Let us know when you get the clutch kit and how it runs. I'd also make sure your belt is in good shape.
