How do you adjust the shocks on a z400 and for what purpose? please any help about shock adjustments

yeh you have.cmon you z400 owners.help him out.on mine i think you just turn the plate that the spring is on so it rests on different notches.not sure.iv never done it

 

also, who makes a good swing arm skid plate? for pretty cheap
