My suzuki bit the dust 3 months ago and my parents want to buy me a new quad. we were looking at the 300ex yesterday and going back today and I have to make a decision. What should I get? I'm 15 and have 7 years of atving and 9 of dirtbikes(dont ride those anymore)and im 5'8. I have a need for speed.

I say that you go with the 400ex becuase when you get used to the 300ex witch doesn't take very long
you still have the 400ex to have more fun. One more thing, the 300ex is nothing compared to the 400ex so if you want speed go with the 400ex.

Did you even read the question in the above post?????
Yes, a 300EX will be a step-up from a Suzuki QuadSport 230.
And No, a 400EX was not brought up in the original post......
I don't think some of you guys even read the posts....you just reply with "get a 400EX....They are cooler....".
Give me a break.

The 300ex is a great bike. I ride a 250x which is essentially the same bike and I love it. The 300ex will do everything you could want it to. Speed wise it is slower than the venerable 400ex, but then the 400ex is slower than the banshee and the raptor. A 300ex is a better bike in the woods though I garraunntee (pronounced slightly slurred with emphasis on "raun", see the old cajun T.V. chef).

With all due respect, cstark, the initial post asked the rather open-ended question, "What should I get?" While only a 300EX was mentioned as a prospect so far, I don't think consideration was limited to that machine only--otherwise, the question might have been, "Shall I buy a 300EX or not?"
Suzuki03 then gave his background, dimensions, and requirement, "I'm 15 and have 7 years of atving and 9 of dirtbikes(dont ride those anymore)and im 5'8. I have a need for speed."
Perhaps I missed something, but I don't think the recommendation for a 400EX was unresponsive.

i'd recommend the 400ex. i realize its a little more pricewise, but it will keep you entertained and take longer to master than the 300ex. i'm not saying the 300 isn't fun. it sure is, but the 400ex is faster and will last you longer, as you'll outgrow the 300's power.

If your not gonna be on the track, but more in the woods, get the 300ex. If you don't see a need for reverse I suggest the 400ex, but its important to recognize that trouble on trails can definitely waste your time. But you need to decide what type of riding will you be doing, and then decide on which one is better for you.

I got the 300ex first then stepped up to the 400ex. The 300ex is one of the best bikes i have ridin. I use to ride in the trails alot but they closed them down near me so it is mostly mx. For that the 400ex is better then the 300ex. You can't go wrong with either of the machines.
