My 660 is only 30 hours old and the reverse rev limiter is stuck on. I grounded the green/white stripe (reverse switch) wire and it still thinks its in reverse. will the factory warranty cover the CDI box because i think its done.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]


should i just buy a new cdi and screw the dealers warranty crap

no you gotta buy a new one the factory doesnt cover cdi's.

Mine has done that several times...I am about to take the whole thing off and unhook the switch. I don't know why, but every time it does it I immediately think something is screwed up...then I look and the e-brake lever is slightly pulled out and not all the way in.

 

yea, from 03 to present, yamaha has put those dumb azz parking brakes on the quads, they are so annoying and they dont even work

Actually they put them on in 02. Have you ever opened the raptor up in reverse without a limiter? You can kill yourself or others pretty easily. Thats why they put it on, but the gearing has always been too high.

 

You can always upgrade to a Vortex CDI, and up the reverse Rev limit. Makes reverse useful in the loose stuff!
