Default water in my air box

I went riding this past weekend and went through a lot of big puddles at a pretty fast speed. so I just went to check over my DS and there was a nasty dirty water in my air box. I removed the "nipple" thing in the bottom of the air box and most of the cruddy water drained out. Now, I had the air box cover on, so how did all this water get in there?? I want to re-jet my DS, and remove the air box lid. I know people are concerned with water in the air box w/o the cover, but I somehow got water in there with the cover on. any ideas?????

Default water in my air box

I rarely ride in water like that. I think I am gonna remove the air box lid and the intake tubes. I have already ordered an Outerwear for my K&N. Then I am gonna re-jet. sound like a good idea???????????
