how often is chain tighting on a scrambler needed?

Just want you to know that your not the only one out there!! I have to tighten my chain on the scrammy about every third ride I do..they do seem to come loose pretty easy..specially if you hit jumps with yours...so its not uncommon.

well the first thing i can tell you is to take off the factory chain and find a nice place for it in the garbage can . buy a new front and rear sprocket and a good chain like the did x ring that i bought for mine . i lube the chain after every ride and i adjusted the chain when i put it on and once after the first month of riding and have not had to touch it since . the chain is now a year old no problems and i do not run a chain tensioner , chain guide , or the factory ring around the rear sprocket . my only regret is that i didnt do it sooner .

The stock chain is crap. It will stretch and wear a lot. I adjusted every ride until I got a tensioner. Then it was every three or so rides. I put DID xring chain on adjusted it once after a good long ride and have not had to mess with it again. I'm sure it will require attention again some day, but not everyday!

i noticed mine is way loose after two rides, what is the chain lenght if you order an aftermarket one, sprockets are only needed if they are old right? if you adjust the factory one you do so with weight on the quad? instruction manual is iffy at best.
thanks
