I have the 04 raptor and love it. So far no problems with my raptor. Between the two atvs it all depends on what you like . Every atv has it's plus and it's negatives.

The V-Force has more Low End but the Raptor has more Mid Rage & Top End. The Raptor will top out at 73MPH and the V-Force at 70MPH.
And yes they did fix the problem with the transmission.

my buddy(techtip101) had a vforce and I have a 04 raptor and when they were both stock i could take him at drag race's. They do take off on the line but they should they are automatic, my buddy has now sold his vforce and bought a banshee, wasnt happy with the power, thought it should have more. it is a nice quad but a little person i dont think fits it, more a big boy sport quad.
it is a great quad but the raptor will have my top choice!!!

Just another opinion, I have a Raptor and my dad has a V Force. They are both piped filtered and have Dyno Jet Kit's on them. Drag Race - Raptor gets it by a little bit, this is up boxcar, in the sand. Climbing tree lines in the sand- I actually like the way the V force climbs better. You would be suprised on how well they climb. All out riding they are both good machines. So I would say it would be up to weather or not you want to shift. Plus the Raptor has more aftermarket parts, but the Force is has its share also. Good luck and have fun!
