buy some bigger jets, and get a new filter, and remove ur lids, for 450$ u can get an awesome pipe-the HMF, but for 60$ u can get a good filter jets and just remove the lid, its been proven on teh dyno just that when jetted properly on a raptor it increases 3hp+

 

or, another cheap mod to increase acceleration is drop a tooth upfront on the sproket, to a 12. or for more top-end increase the front

 

My suggestion would be to go down one on the back. You will increase your top end by a little, (I'm goign to guess 1MPH) but you will sacrifice very little acceleration. 1MPH isnt' much, but think of it in terms of distance. Think about a mile and then say to yourself "well I'll be that far ahead of the other guy in one hour".

 

i dont know when that would really come in handy though, ull never be going for 1 hour really. but i kinda see what ur sayin. if u do those mods and it really increases by 3 hp then u would want to gear up anyway cause ull be hittin the rev limiter too fast which will actually hold u back
