im going to be selling my 01 recon soon and geting a used Raptor or Banshee and i am aware that the 01 Raptors had that tranny recall but I was wondering if yall know any thing to do or look it to see if the bike runs well and wont brake down after the 3rd ride please help im 14 and started driving at the age of 6 and i never driven a clucth or any thing bigger than a 450cc Thank You

 

If I was you I would buy a z400. They are very reliable. I have rode raptors and they are very fast but I'm not very tall and I felt like I was sitting up way too high. Just something to think about.

 

660 cc is alot of power to learn how to use a clutch on you could get yourself into trouble and FAST. I wouldn't recommend learning on that big of a machine. I would suggest a 400ex or z400 or kfx400 if you are a decent rider.

 

well defenetly check the machines over very good...I think the best test is to just ride them...make sure there isn't any funky noises and make sure she runs good...and ya the 01s did have some tranny problems....out of those two...I would get the raptor...the banshee is one of those machines that sometimes tells you what to do and you don't have much say sometimes...It would defenetly be fast..you could look at the 400 class...kfx and z...are some pretty fast quads...specially if modded...and you might even look at the warriors.
