Hello all.
I have a new sportsman 400 4x4 atv .
What happenes is at full throttle it seems to cut out when I leave off throttle again and reapply full throttle it will be ok for a few secounds then starts poppin again only happenes at full throttle.
seems like it may be starving for fuel or something like that , it sounds like it does in reverse cutting out
any ideas let me know
Thanks

It happens on long strightaways when at full throttle, only time I notice it is at full throttle on strights or when climbing hills, I will try a new plug and see if that seems to help.any other suggestions please let me know and thanks for the info.

Check for venting problems. Look at your carb vent line and make sure they are not pinched or blocked, make sure the air box snorkle has plenty of space to breath (on some models the snorkel was too close to the foam pad under the gas tank), and lastly check the fuel tank vent line.

Something else to consider, when working the engine hard they have a tendency to vapour lock due to exsesive heat from the engine. It happens with the 500 HO, it could also be a problem with the 400 too. It could be that you are hitting the rev limiter too.</FONT>
