Default Muzzy pipe jetting

Just received Muzzy exaust system and talked to pipe technician about jetting, he recomends a .020 inch shim under the needles. My question is were do I get shims? I also need to know if I remove my air box lid how many sizes in the main jet should I go? Your help is appreciated Thanks John A

I am running the Muzzy pipe with the stock airbox, snorkel removed, and a K&N filter. Right now I am at 155/158 jetting and it seems to run perfect. I will still experiment with it. I don't plan on removing the baffle, because I do ride in wate, and the baffle gives you a little protection. Alos, I would rather the air go into the whole filter, not just ram into one spot of the front.

I don't think your bike will even run without the air box lid....WAY to much air.

I am at sea level. I have Muzzy,K & N, O.W.,D.G. snorkle. Right now I'm at 158 f- 160 r with .020 shims. Didn't run long enough to color plugs, but 152 f- 155 r plugs looked kind of lean. Don't forget to adjust your pilot screws. Somewhere in the 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 turns out to start, then set them when running (like a car) to highest idle.

I am running Dynojets at 130F 134R. I have not had a problem with them like some have. I am at 6000' and have some airbox mods and a Notoil air filter. It runns great!

Hey Guys'
I just removed my Aliens and I'm now waiting for my Muzzy headpipes which are on the way back from Jet-Hot, should be here tomorrow. I'm running a K&N filter in a stock airbox, no mods to it or the snorkle. I'm running 140/145 mains. Will I be way to lean and should I jet up some? It was running perfect with the Aliens with this set up. Thx, Putt

vnasty- you must mean.020 shims.... .20 is close to a 1/4 inch (two tenths) I am jetted past you, lower humidity and temp where I'm at.

Guys I dug up this old post because I just installed my Mussy exhaust.I'm at 800 to 1000 ft The only airbox mod I have is the factory snorkle.I heated the depression out of the area made to fit around the steering stem, thats all.Mine came with 135 ft and 140 rear have tried all the way to 152 ft and 155 rear w/o any performance gains on a 300 ft run.

Should I keep going up til I notice a performance gain. BTW factory air filter ( twin air will be here saturday) that brings up another ? Jetting with the factory filter, will it change once the Twin Air is installed w/o air box mods.

Any suggestions. I need to get this dialed in for a race sunday.
