why should atv's be aloud on the roads or dirt roads

I think they should be able to cruise the highways. The newer ones have everything a motorcycle has exept highway tires, a mirror, and blinkers. I know my banshee is more road worthy than half the cars I see on the road everyday. Lets face it, I know everone has seen a big group of motorcycles coming down the highway, how cool would it be to see the same thing only with four wheels.

considering the fact that most atv's have a locked rear axle, i dont think they should be permited on major roads because of handeling issues asociated with that. Now, on secondary roads, backroads and such, i think they should be permitted, as long as they have dot parts, current registration, inspection, and insurance.

What about all of the 4wd trucks that have lockers installed. They don't make those trucks drive on secondary roads only. I bet that if you didn't run into problems like broken axles and stuff when you run a locker, 70% of trucks would run em. I don't think you would have to worry about breaking an axle on a quad unless your breaking the law anyway. Just my .02

yeah i would agree get a car you think your quad handles pretty good on dirt and what not but try taking a corner faster then 30 and you wont wanna ride ur quad on the road.

but they should let u able to ride on the side of roads as long as they are back roads or secondary roads because ur not harming anything if ur staying to the side and letting cars pass u and ur not throwing and thing up at the cars because all we normaly want to do when we ride on the road is to get to more feilds or trails cuz who likes riding the same trails over and over again i mean come on.
