I have been wanting my own ATV for a long time. I ride friends and familys all the time and have finally got my parents to agree let me get one. I like the utility quads for muddin but i like the sport quads for jumping and speed. I will be ridding on mostly trails and a few sandpits. I like the 400 ex's and the 400 DVX but dont know what i should get. Thnx for any suggestions.

 

Which quad do you like better?

 

Both machines are excellent machines and would fit the bill for the type of riding you are describing you plan on doing.
My suggestion go sit on the both and see which one feels more comfortable to you.

 

My vote would be for the DVX. It's is a modern quad with a liquid cooled engine and it has reverse.

 

out of the 400 class....the z400, kfx 400, and dvx 400 all have the same motor (just different plastic mainley) I would choose one of those over the 400ex....because they have reverse....fast....and they look pretty sweet..I like the dvx and kfx the best.....

Have you thought about the scrambler 500 4x4....In my opinion its pretty much a sports quad with 4x4 when you need it...My scrammy love the trails and I love riding the trails....they are pretty fast...(not as fast as the 400's) but she gets along and with some mods to wake her up...and I take mine mudding also...ever get stuck just kick the four wheel drive in...Its a great all around quad...I even jump a little on mx...the front end is heavier then hell though...if you do alot of jumping then I would stick with the kfx or the dvx 400
