Default Finally found a 350x!

I finally found a 350x thats not already sold, lol. But it needs some serious cosmetic work. Here's a list of what all is needed, New Back fenders, new seat foam and seat cover, new latching hardware, new air filter cover, possibly new swingarm carrier (all thats messed up is the chain tightening thing on it), maybe new back brake pads, front fender, and new brake & clutch levers. But here's the thing the engine is almost like brand new, starts on first kick, and it is totally stock, it also has the stock exhaust! The tank has no rust in it and no dents, the gas tank shrouds are also in great cond. Here's the sh!tty part about it, he wants $800 for it cuz thats what he gave for it to begin with, oh well i'm only gonna pay half for it anyways lol. This is gonna be a pretty fun project i think but its gonna have some major $ put into it before its gonna be really nice. What do you all think?

Heck it sounds in the same condition as the damb quad I just bought my wife lol. 800 is pretty high, but waiting for the perfect deal can take a long long long long time! If you do not mind dumping money into it, then go for it. Around here (St. Louis) 350x's are very hard to find! Bringing a trike back from the dead is a great feeling! Tear it up!

I'm definantly gonna buy it, i should have it around friday evening. I have been looking for a good running 350x for about 7 months. So i'd be retarded to pass this up. Hey Thrash do you know how i can get ahold of the complete mounting hardware that goes under the fender to latch on the bike? Thats my main concern right now on the bike because thats the only thing i need to ride on it confortably (i can always ride on the frame if i'm desperate). And another question, why won't the back brake work if it has pads on it? Is it possibly because there's no brake fluid in the reservoir? I have no knowledge whatsoever about hydraulic brakes so i'm gonna need some help. Thx.

Good luck with the bike man. I work at an automotive repair shop for a living and I do small engine repair on the side. Just bikes though, no damn lawnmowers. Anyway, 9 times out of ten on an older bike the caliper gets froze up. Chunk the e-brake cable and buy a block off plate for the caliper. The easiest way to rebuild it is to take out the brake bleeder and install a grease fitting. pump it full of grease until the pistons pop out. Get some scotchbright and polish everything up and reinstall everything with new seals from honda. The last atc 250r caliper I rebuilt cost me about $8 bucks and is as good as new. If it turns out that it is the mastercylinder you can rebuild it to. You might try ebay for the hardware you need. I have had good luck getting hard to find parts cheap on ebay. If it has been setting a while go ahead and invest in new cables too, they are cheap and hard to beat.

I was goofing around on ebay a few days ago. There was a seller with a boat load of used parts. Each ad had a pic of a tricked out sport quad or a shot of his salvage yard. I image he would be easy to find again (I don't have access to ebay from the network I am on right now). I want to say he was located out in CA. Many of his pics and ad placed in his auctions mentioned paring 3-wheelers. Worth a look.
