I got a set of 12x7 HighLifter Lite steel wheels. And then I bought a set of Gators for them. I'm going with 25x10s up front and 26x12s out back. Problem is, I tried to mount the rear tire on a wheel last night and it wouldn't go. These 26x12x12s are HUGE. I didn't intend to get a tire this big...I wish I had stuck with 10" width all around. My question is: can I take these to a tire shop and have them mount them? I don't have the proper tools to even get these superwide tires on these wheels. And am I going to rub in the rear when I put them on?? It would be great if someone else in here tells me they are running 26x12x12s with no wheel spacers and no problems. I'm paranoid that they aren't going to fit or that they are going to snap my axles.

You should be able to go to almost any tire shop and have them mounted.I am running 26" Mud bugs and the fit on my 02 400i with no problem.Since they are the same basic tire you should not have any trouble either.

Im not sure bout the arctic cats but on some atv to diff height tires will mess the drive trains up in 4x4 because the fronts have to turn more times to equal one rear turn? Might wanna check more on that.

bwm87,
The AC 300 comes with a smaller front tire so he will be ok.

I ran that same setup on my old kingquad without any problems. The Gators last great too. 1700kms (little over 1000 mi) and they are barely showing wear and I'd say 3/4 of those miles were hard pack and the rest was very hard mudding. The only thing with the Gators is they seem a bit heavy. I wish I had stuck with the 25" as was suggested to me.

Ok I put 26s in the back, 25s in the front. Problem is, I got out the tape measure and they both are about 25" tall. That might mess up my tranny in 4WD. Haven't tried it yet. Also, they ARE heavy. I'm afraid I'm going to snap an axle too.

They look awesome though. Guess I'll get to try them out pretty soon. Hope everything works well. Say guys...what PSI should I run in them? Tire shop put 16 lbs. of air in....I thought they were only supposed to get 7??

stormdawg.
i found that 4 psi worked the best with my gators.
3 psi was almost to soft it made the steering heavy and more then 4psi made it ride rough.
4 worked best for me.
the best way for you to find out is to play with the air pressure and set it up the way you like it best.
any less then 3psi is too soft.
hope this helps.

Wow I've been riding for years and can't tell the difference between 1 psi... Just put the max pressure in the tires and enjoy. Don't worry about the axles in the 300 they will hold up. Your ATV will accept most any size tires in the front and the rear. Gators will bog the 300 down just a little, I would have purchased Mudlites. Just my 2 cents.
