Big Bear or Kodiak 400???
#2
I am not up to date on the 2004 models but the Kodiak I have is an automatic tranny and the Big Bears are standard shift. The auto is great and would be excellent for a girl. I run oversize mud tires and hunt in swamps and hill country and am very satisfied with my Kodiak. Mine is a 2000 and is 4x4, the newer models are 2 wheel drive. The new Kodiak 450 is the current 4x4.

Between those two, I'd go w/ the big bear. It's got a lot more low end grunt that the kodiak 400. Are you getting 2wd or 4? Your daughter wanting a manual (big bear) or auto (kodiak) is prolly the most important thing though.

They are both used bikes.... both 4x4.... I know the 2004 Kodiak well, as my wife has one... but I hadn't seen the Big Bear... My daughter I'm sure would want the automatic.. but with her looking to get her drivers lic..it might be better if she has to learn how to shift the BigBear... I'm sure the little car I will get for the kids to drive will be a standard... so at least she would have some sort of experience shifting,a nd listening for when to shift...

i have an 01 big bear 400 and have had no problems, but its full time 4x4. beginning in 02 the bb came with a push button 2 or 4 wheel drive which would make steering ( in 2 wheel drive ) much easier. wish i had it!
but for her i think i would say automatic as i have thought alot about one for myself.
