Okay this is at a dealer but do you guys think this is a fair price? I think the7y need to go lower. I could have major problems with the tranny and rear shocks... What do yuo think. Its stock good condition

That is a fair price, if it is in real good condition, but IMO, I wouldn't buy it for 2 reasons. 1st is that it was the first year that they came out, so they are bound to have problems to work out, and 2nd is that the 01 had tranny problems that are known of, so that itself is a big chunk of change to fix if it has the problems. It would cost another $800-$1000 for parts and labor to add on to the price you pay for the bike for repairs. , myself, would look for the newer bike for close to the same price.

Nope. I wouldn't pay a dollar over $3500 for it, then I'd put the 02' gear set in it right away......Ouch, but then you know it won't have trouble later. I had the same delema..... Sell my 01' and get something new, or dump out the approx. $1000 just to fix something that shouldn't be broken in the first place. I took the first option....... My friend bought a used 02 Raptor that was in very good shape for $4,000. It already had a durablue axle 2+2 axle, renthal bars, holeshot xcts, alba full race pipe, and a k&n with outerwear. Just my 2 cents.

Easy there trigger happy....... Maybe he's just saying that THAT peticular quad has a problem with the shock/tranny. He didn't go into enough detail for us to know one way or the other. Calm yourself down alittle.......
