Default 600 cc motorcycle engine quad project

I am having thoughts of making a 600 cc motorcycle engine powered quad for fun.
I was planning on using a banshee frame with an extended swing arm.

I have a TIG and Mig welder and the usual stuff to build monster garage stuff.

I was wondering if anyone has a web site out there who has done this and I can see some pics.

Hey my dad just put a quad together similar to what you are trying to do. He put a 97 Ninja 600R motor in a 250X chassis with heavy mods.
He basically cut the front and back end off and designed the center part of the frame to hold the motor. She is wicked! I will attach some pics when I find em!
See ya.

My personal opinion is this, if you have the capabilities, anything is possible with the right tools. And if i was to do a 600 cc bike i would use a R6. I guess you can call it a personal preference i guess. I don't see any reason the predator frame would be any worse than using a banshee frame, just more modifications. The newer R6's are fuel injected, went away from the carberation, from what i hear it is a day and night difference. I have only been on the old carburated ones. I have seen a guy make his own frame and shove a honda 954 in it. And than turned around and put raptor plactics on it. But the plastics were zip tyed on. so it all just depends on what you want out of your bike.

Yes Shawn anything is possible with time and money and the right tools the R6 motor is great for a project bike i used the R1 for Drag Racing because it has the best HP to weight ratio of any 1000cc motor on the market. It is ALOT of work alot of frame cutting and welding you need to have the bike frame right there beside the quad frame to make sure you get the motor in the quad frame at the same angles because thats very important for tuning it right! Just take your time and make sure its right ! The hardest thing for me was getting the gear ratio right ! Because the R1 runs a 530 chain and the Quadzilla runs a 520 chain so i had to buy custom sprockets for the rear at $100 each and i go 5 of them right now! But it so nice to go some where to ride and EVERY body just comes and looks at your bike like it pure gold!
