tecate for MX tracking
#1
i was wondering if a tecate would be any good to ride around a mx coarse for fun not racing or anything of that matter if i could ride a track for a day and nothing would go wrong i was also wondering how heavy they are

The Tecate is great in the power and speed department, actually faster than a TRX250R and LT250R. The handeling on the machine though is another story. The engine in the Tecate will outpace the frame and suspension on the machine and make for some very scary moments. Get some extended A-arms and axle then do some suspension work on it and you'll be good to go.
The Tecate is famous for it's speed and infamous for it's handeling. Sink some money into chassis/suspension and it will be better than the Honda or Suzuki 2-strokes on a MX track.
EDIT: Forgot to answer the weight and reliability question.
They are around the same weight as the other 2-stroke 250 machines, which is VERY light. They are a little less reliable than the Honda or Suzuki 250 machines though. But if you keep up with all the maint on it you'll be fine.
