Do a search for exhaust, pipe, slip-on, etc. There are always lots of opinions about them. If you are not an extreme drag racer, most pipes will give you some good gains and will look good. Anyway most people realize that the most hp of all slip-ons is hmf, but it doesn't even match the Mr. HP endcap. For a full exhaust there is no comparison to the ron woods full system.

Where do you live anyway? I live in corydon in south central Iowa and if you ever ride at bluff creek give me a hollar.

Justin

DO NOT buy a White Bros R4....you lose performance and they were less than useful about jetting info.

I have the CT full pipe and really like it so far. MrHp dynoed it before they sent it to me and said that it was the best full system that they have dynoed yet. If you are interested they can get them for a pretty good price call richards recreation and talk to randale. There number is on mrhp's site.

Default pipe?

I got a 2004 DS 650 and just got my 1st service. Now it's time to improve it. I had a Banshee and need to get more of a Banshee "feel" out of my DS. I plan on a K & N air filter, trimming the snorkel tubes to under the tank and securing them straight along the frame rails, Vortex CDI, and some form of pipe. I'm leaning towards fuel injection as it is not much more expensive then a Lectron carb. I don't want to go inside the motor for seveal years, unless I have to.

My quandry is which pipe and why. I have read the forum but still am unsure if I should put a slip on or go full pipe. Durability and weight savings is a plus. I like the performance of the MRHP endcap, and the smaller price, but I need to worry about spark arrestors and noise.

I mainly ride in the dunes, and there is now a sound limitation, though rarely enforced so far. I do trail ride in the desert and would need a sparky. I need the performance for the dunes. I DON'T hill race or drag. I DUNE, but I dune hard and fast. I'm having trouble adjusting to the slower response of the DS compared to my Banshee.

Any suggestions would be helpful, with some facts to back them up too. I have read the posts here and I am impressed with the amount of experienced DS tuners that frequent this board.

Well i don't know about hard facts if your meaning the dyno sheets manufactures put out then god help you !!!! because they will alway's be inacurate.

Now if you want real world facts. The ron woods is the undisputed top preformer!!!! but it is a big around pipe and tends to get dings?? next would be your ct-graydon seriese which is a awesome second place pipeit is a tad smaller and preforms great but it is a rivet assembaled pipe and some maintinance is in order. the rest are a toss up if you take the time to look up the subject you will see many other opions but these pipes alway's seem to come out on top.

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR QUEST

Yup R4 from White Brothers doesn't work very well (have one siting on the floor myself). I have the Woods pipe and still like it so far, only thing I don't like is how far it sticks out (yup it's hit the ground). They do sell Q-core and sparky for the Woods pipe now. I run just the sparky and it controls the DB rather well for where I ride.
