Raptor Paddle tire options
#1
I will be making my first trip to the Rexburg Oregon dunes in June and need some advice.
Rear paddle tire options for my Raptor which has a full Yoshimura system & Proflo air box:
21x11x10 or 21x11x8
ITP Sandstars or Kenda Sand Geckos
Thanks.

Stay away from the Geckos!! I haven't met anybody that's truly happy with them.
I don't have any first hand experience with the Sand Stars but they seem to be built better.
If I had my choice and was looking for a similar tire that I knew worked well I would buy 20-10-10 Skat Trak "Edge" paddles. You'll hook up good and still be able to corner well. Get 9 paddles if your gearing is stock and 10 paddles if you have geared it down. Really it depends on if you're willing to spend a little extra cash for them. I would drop the money in a heartbeat if given the option.
Hope this helps!

I just got back from the L.S. in Oklahoma and buying my sand tires I talked to Jim from Jim's sand toys. He recommended 20/11/8 with a V Pattern. He said the 8 inch wheel gets a better bite and the V pattern is great for racing and shooting the dunes. So I went with the 20/11/8 Sidewinders and loved them.
