What is the most hp anyone has seen come from a 400ex. I mean bored, stroked, cam, the whole nine yards... What is the most possible HP. I am trying to proove to someone about there HP they can make. Also if someone had a website showing some monster Fire breathing 400ex's let me know!

I don't want this to sound wrong....
So here is the answer to your question....

I have yet to see any actual instances of fire breathing 400ex's ..(the 440 kit seems pretty good). But I would think that your question is best answered with...How much Money do you want to spend..??..I would guess that a totally worked machine...including a major overbore...cam...port...carb...intake...pipe...val ves..etc...would easily produce 70-75 hp.maybe more( maybe?)..But there is so much to think about...and I really could be wrong..because by the time your done with all this work...you really don't have a 400 anymore. About the only part of the 400ex engine that would be original would be the block. The only way I am sure of getting this kind of HP in "bursts" Would be a nitrous kit of some sort.

I'm sure there are people out there that have or have seen some pretty worked motors stuffed into quads.... So good luck with that screamer!!

I have a dyno chart for a 400EX with some work done to it. Peak hp was 40.5 at the rear wheels. Mods list is - 440 cc 89 mm 12.5:1 piston, cam, exhaust, intake kit, stock carb, and porting. A stock motor was on the chart for comparison and it peaked at 29.5 hp.

The above post is right about how much money do you want to spend. I would guess that running alcohol on this motor with a higher compression would boost the hp number into the 50's. Anything higher would indeed not be a 400 anymore. And yes, things like a turbo, nitrous, etc., would change things dramatically. The question is then... how long would it LAST??? Can you say grenade???

I heard Trinity makes a 460cc kit...and it costs $2600. As always, there's no substitute for cubic inches, just how much you want to spend.
