Got the much hyped HV46 from MRHP... results are...

Buttfungus was selling his 46HV and I gobbled up at the offer. I managed to sell my 44MM and used the $$ from that to recoupe for the HV Which I was still getting it a bit cheaper than what MRHP is offering. Butt sent it back to Eric to tune it up for my settings. I got it in the mail yesterday and I put it on LATE last night. It took a bit longer than expected and when I was ready to ride it down the street to see it's performance it was way too late and dark outside to give it a test run. Knowing that tomorrow is ride, I took the chance that it may actually dampen my day if not tuned right.
When we got to our sand pit I opened her up and I noticed a STRONG pull all over the powerband. Bottom was nice (front end comes up easier now) and mid and top are even sweeter. I never stayed in 5th very long today cause it was getting scary fast at that speed and the sand was NOT smooth. SO I was doubting myself. I asked my Stage III buddy to take it for a spin to see if there was a vast improvement or it was simply a figment of my imagination. Within the first 5-7 Seconds he ripped by me and gave me the nod that "YES IT RIPS" and rode my DS longer than he normally has since I got my 720 kit. He said it has plenty more grunt now and is NOW considering one for his bike. Keep in mind I had knobbies on today in the loose stuff, I can only imagine what it would have been like in hard packed dirt and/or with paddles.
All you guys considering a 46HV, don't think about it anymore. Get it!!!! I couldn't believe how much a carbuerator difference makes on a bike. I'll admit my 44mm was leaving me wanting to put the stocker back on. After todays ride I was so thrilled with the newfound power I wouldn't even consider the stocker ever again. The Carb woke up my bike considerably &I can't stress how much gain it gave me. It rips everywhere on the powerband. I was skeptical going to such a large carb would lose bottom end. It gave power all over and now I'm debating on if I really want a high compression piston in there or not. I can only imagine how much more abrupt it can be. Last couple of rides on my DS had me wondering if I should get rid of it and take up another hobby, the carb has given me rekindled love for my bike all over again.
Only thing I need to kink out is the stiff thumb throttle effort. I think its the way my cable is routed. It's rather stiff and gave me a little trouble hammering it for a jump. Before I routed it all it was easy to open but when I slapped all the tank plastics on it became rather stiff. That's something more I believe is my fault, not the carb. I will get another cable either from Eric or Terry Cable till I work out the kinks and hopefully ease the throttle effort. I know it won't be like stock but I want it as similar as I can get it.
46HV over TM45 anyday....it's awsome... I can't rave enough about it (I know ironic from a never satisfied guy).

Good deal dude. One of the first 686 Raptors with a Lectron running gas is just about ready to go. I'm hoping for similar results.

ANNIHILATER,
DUDE I'm happy with the way she runs now. My Stage III friend said "Imagine if you get your head done?". He is now considering one but doesn't like the fact that he will need a whole new throttle assembly plus cable. I'll be 100% satisfied if I can get the thumb throttle effort reduced. Other than that, the thing flat out rips. There is a SLIGHT hesitation/bog when I wick the throttle from putting along to WOT in a fast throttle push, but I'm sure I can iron that out. The bog is NOWHERE near my friends TM45 and the weather today was really humid and hot. He swears by RWR stuff I'm surprised he even considered one. He has hinted if I can put mine on his bike to try it out. I'll do it for the sake of the results. If if rips for him I can guarantee a sale for MRHP.
Buttfungus I wanted to say thanks for selling it to me first. I'm very please with it. It's in great condition, it hauls buttcheeks, and I'm very pleased with it. I'm even happier I didn't pay the full amount. I was going to buy one full price but if you can save a couple of bucks it makes it even more worthwhile knowing you saved some pennies.

We did a bunch of different drags. From a dead stop, from 2nd gear roll, From a 3rd gear roll, I gave him trouble but again he has a bit in his favor.
I had knobbies and he had paddles.
I have one tooth front sprocket (which I will be switching back to stock gearing).
He admitted if I had my crappy padldes on today which last week the did give a big improvement in traction, The race would be closer. He was riding my DS for several mintues. That alone told me he liked the newfound power. I'm not beating him yet, but the race is defintely closer. One race today, he was 1 1/2 - 2 quad lengths ahead of me. Not bad considering he was smoking me a lot more than that last year.
