i need a new chain for the scram, where do i look, who has the best and can i do it myself
hit a jump at about 45mph and landed really hard, needless to say the chain snapped instantly,i knew it was only a matter of time before it broke, all of the hell i put it through...it shoulda broke sooner and im surprised it lasted the long
TIP:never jump a scram more than 10ft in the air repeatedly!!!!!
God Bless!!

first off, you should change your sprokets at the same time as the chain. Try a D.I.D. X-ring chain, they are very good and strong, and very cheap. I use a Regina O-Ring chain and JT sprokets, and the chain hardly never need tightening. You will be able to do the change your self.

ive had pretty bad luck with regina chains, ive snaped at least 3 while jumping..the d.i.d x-ring chains are pretty much the best..rockymountain atv seems to be the cheapest place to order then, through them the d.i.d chain is only a few bucks more than i was paying for the regina..like DGScrambler said, change your sprockets at the same time, that way the new sprockets wear evenly with the new chain.depending on how worn the sprockets you have now are, they could make the new chain not wear correctly..

Get you a chain tensioner and not worry as much about busting a chain. You are lucky you didnt bust your tranny case too.

I too have a DID X-ring chain and Sunstar sprockets. I bought mine from Dennis Kirk. If you have a concentric drive machine you might not need the chain tensioner. Jumping my quad at Silver Lake sand dunes played hell on my stock chain. Same results "snapped on touchdown". The DID chain broke my chain breaker so I had to grind off a pin and punch the link out to get the right length.
