Default contacting AC

Does anyone know of an email in which I could contact AC. A phone number too that goes directly to their service dept would also help.

You will not be able to contact the service dept. at AC unless you are a dealer. If you look on the AC website you should be able to get the customer affair number. Can't your dealer your answer your service ? after all thats why AC has its dealers.

I Agree with snox314, even the the A/C website says that your dealer is still the best place to call.

Deathbringr,
What kind of problems are you having with your machine and your dealer.
Just curious, maybe I can give you a little help or answers.

Default contacting AC

Hey Death,

Got this number, 1-800-279-2281, got this new 800 number from a dealer, they
changed the old one. I have been having some problems and have even contacted the
CEO, christopher Twomey, because all of the small engine shops that sell AC around here,
do not know enough about them to fix serious problems, not their fault, I just think that AC
should drop all of the small engine shop dealers, and open up AC only stores with real
motor cycle- ATV mechanics. This is my only complaint with AC. And I know that some of
these small engine shops have mechanics that know what they are doing, but not around here,
I have fixed, discovered, and figured out more of the problems on my 300 than they have, and
they have caused more problems than they fixed. And my 03 300 4x4 is a cherry, never been in mud,
still looks new, all synthetic lube, just use it to ride around the farm, with my little girl. I have 300
easy miles on it, have done everything imaginable, new carb ,set valves, new intake, new cdi unit,
new coil, I can go on, but I was in a Suzuki shop the other day, talking to a motorcycle-ATV mechanic,
and he asked if anyone had done a leak-down test on it. I said no, no one had ever said that before,
he said, that should have been the first thing done, so I have contacted the president of AC, because
this has been going for a year and it is out of warranty. Oh yeah, the problem is that it will not
idle steady, I think it's internal, possibly the magneto, timing chain, don't know, but any way,
I have tried everything with the dealer, they have done everything they are able to do, they even
gave me an o4 to bring home and swap parts with to find the problem, but no external part helped.

P.S.,
like I said that is the new 800 number, and it's toll free, to the factory, and
I looked up the president's ext. # and the VP, left them both very long, detailed
messages, maybe it'll light some fires.

is it occasionally hard starting? I'v spent a good amount of time working on suzuki/arctic cat 250/300's. A couple things i'v seen are 1. some have the canadian equipped carbs on them which run very different jet sizes. Measure the carb to be sure its got the right jets for that carb. 2. That motors weak points are the valves. I'v seen some that will pass compression checks, leakdown tests, all external parts swap to find that the valves seats get cupped to where the intake pulses arent strong enough to draw the right amount of fuel at idle. (sounds strange i know) New valves fix that and there are no tests to know if thats it besides visual inspection. 3. The cylinder beight at that angles makes it prone to having moisture sit in the rings and rusting into the iron sleeve and the bottom of the bore. That also contributes to the intake pulse problem yet compression will still test acceptable (around 130 usually) A leakdown test with the valve cover removed will sometimes reveal this and the cure is an overbore piston and cylinder boring. Arctic cat doesnt have a customer service number i'm aware of. The ones they used to have dont work and you'll be on hold forever. Try contacting a larger dealer.

Finally after 4 years of dealing with running problems and valve adjustments with only 1500 miles ac tore down the engine found that my 250 had the bad batch of valves they were plagued with and that as a result of the bad valves screwed up my piston and rings.. So they replaced all of it at no cost and now she runs great. Now I am having a problem with the front ball joints. All 4 are shot and the bike has been sitting more than its been ridin which is what I don't understand. SO now after getting the bike fixed I have the ball joint problems. Trick you say u r familiar with the 250 anything you know of that I can do to the engine to get better performance? I have it at the dealer now so i figure if not I might have them check it out and trade it in for a 500 semi auto.
