Default guys can you help please??

i posted this question last night in the bombardier forums and havent received any help yet. (i know i am impatient) My brother in law has a 04 outlander 400 and it will not idle. if you put the choke on about half way it runs fine?? any ideas of what could be wrong?? it has ran fine up until the other day. he said he didnt go through any water. thanks again

Sounds like the pilot circuit in the carb may be plugged up with some trash.Take it apart and clean the pilot jet,and see what happens.

Check and make sure the Air filter is on properly, look for loose connectors on the air intake tubing and Carb mounts. If you choke it and it runs better while warm, it's running lean. If you do take the carb off (last resort), check that the float is operating properly. Pull the gas line off the carb and run some gas into a can or jar while turning the shutoff on/off. Does the fuel flow properly? if not clean the tank and filter if it has one. Does the gas look watered down? Sometime water in the tank or Carb bowl will do this so drain the carb bowl as well. Have you checked the Plug? Try replacing it and see if this helps.
