I just got done speaking to my salesperson here in salt lake city, utah and he just got done telling me that Yamaha is going to cut back on their first shipment by 75%. I don't think it really matters for dealers that are getting only around 5 to 10, but the dealer that I put down a large deposit with was supposed to get 40 in, and 20 for their first shipment. I am going to have to wait at least two weeks after the first shipment if I am not lucky enough to get one of the first ones in.

Thats interesting I was told by my dealer that Yamaha told him each dealer was being allowed ONLY 3. Very interesting indeed. And im 3rd in line for one. He said not till November for mine.

your dealer must have been wrong my local dealer is getting 10 the other 5, i think it may have something to do with it if you only sell yamaha, or something or how long you have been a dealer, kinda like seniority buying.

That's prolly it. I think my dealer has been around for 5 years. So I bet seniority has quite a bit to do with it. Main its gonna be a PAINFUL wait for that thing!

Well the dealer here in utah is supposed to be one of the largest dealers in the country so I would guess that they have a lot of seniority, I am just saying that if anyone had some info, they would.

I just went to my dealer today checking on a raptor.....They have 7 on order and have sold 3 already. They did not give a date though...saying anywhere from the end of august to the end of November.

Now the question is whether I need to add another wheeler to the collection. because, even though the raptor specs out really nice....I still can't replace my 2 stroke...It's gonna be a tough decision for me.

Was there a reason given for the delay? Hopefully it's because they can't get them all retro-fitted with a shorter first gear that will allow it to pull the holeshot on any quad out there.

I am getting tired of all the different reviews, Yamaha said this thing was going to be a sep above everything else. Maybe it is detuned a bunch or they let the magazines test it with too tall of a counter shaft sprocket so they wouldn't lose banshee sales. All of hondas 2000 400ex's carbs only opened up 3/4 of the way. Last time i talked to my dealer was 2 weeks ago and he said he thought they would be here the middle of august. now everyone is saying september i am going to call my dealer and ask him again. I am going through withdrawl I sold my LT250R over a month ago. Hey Bash where are you located in kentucky, close to cincinnati, ohio?

shollz,

I'm in western Ky, so it's a pretty good distance from the part that you mentioned. Too bad, I'd like to get together sometime and do some riding.

I was hoping to make it to Turkey Bay on labor day with my new Raptor, but it looks like I'd just be walking if I went from what they are saying about the shipping times.
