My husband is changing the oil in my son's Polaris, but there is no dipstick. How much oil does he need to put in?

 

The Sportsman and Scrambler 90's are two strokes and the oil is mixed in with the gas. That's why there isn't a dip stick. Hope this helps.

 

I don't know what that means -but he probably does - but how much oil does he need?

 

Oh, and in the owner's manual it reads "Add Polaris Premium Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant (PN2872478 - 12oz bottle) to full mark on the fill plug/disptick

 

There is an oil resivoir under the seat, I'm not sure how much it takes, but the gas and oil are mixed as you run the bike, so just fill up the resivoir and put regular gas in the tank.

 

Thanks for the info! He knew where to put the oil, just didn't know how much -- manual is sort of vague

I think it is about 7 oz. If you look on the right side of the quad right over the top of the chain to the tranny you can see a little window. You need to fill it right to the middle of the window. When I filled my sons, I used a syringe that was left over from giving our horses some medicine and it worked great.
