A couple of people in here post that they have a moddified rev box for there 300ex that adds 1,500 rpm,and a couple more degrees in timming. But when i called TC racing, and Graydon Proline, they told me that the only thing you can do to the 300's rev box is just get rid of the rev limmiter, they both told me that you cant advance timing or add 1500 rpm's to it. Does anybody have any logic to this? and can i just work on it myself to rid it of the limmiter instead of shipping it off to them?

That is messed up.

Because Cstark says that he has had TC racing do his.

Umm...maybe he should verify that..but i just figured i'd pass that along incase he didn't read this or whatever.

The rev limiter and advanced timing can be changed on any engine that has a electronic ignition. It is a simple programming change done inside you "black box.
With proper engine mods, raising the rev limiter and advancing the timing, allows the engine too rev faster and higher(more rpms).

Anyone that says that either change is not possible, must not want your buisness. And I would look elsewhere.

I have the modded black box and i also had the stock throttle housing modded in order to open the carb slide all the way. I have seen boxes for sale that are modded all you have to do is replace the black box.

Here is the truth as far as I know it. The "Rev Kits" available for the 400ex have a higher rev limiter than stock (approx. 1500 rpm higher). The black box mod for a 300ex has the rev limiter completely removed. I know this sounds scary and I currently don't have this mod done myself. I do know a ton of guys with this mod and none have had problems. It really does make a noticable difference and the motor will easily rev 1500 rpm extra than normal without any strain. Of course you have to be careful with missing a gear or some bad deal like that. I will have one by winter for sure, along with a Lectron carb.
