250r V.S. 450r
#2
This question is too general. Better in what aspect? As far as motocross, stock for stock, the 450R is way better. Woods, the 450R is probably better because of better low-end hit and better powerband for trails. Dunes would probably go to either machine. The only thing on the stock 250R that may be on par with the stock 450R is the power. The suspension, chassis and almost everything else on the 450R is leaps and bounds ahead of the 250R. 250R loyalists will trash me for saying this, but their machines are probably somewhat tricked out. I mean stock vs. stock.

stock for stock the 250r can't even match the power of the new honda 450r. the 450r is better in every aspect stock for stock. When the motor mods start to come in though the 250r really starts to shine in the power department. Port work changes everything.

38 at the crank....around 30 at the rear wheels. Stock for stock the 450R is the winner in pretty much everything.
Modified, the 250R should be the better machine.

well, 450R loyalists will probably trash me for saying this, but i have both and i have to edge out overall handling to the original R. Shocking, huh? Maybe its just my preference, i dont know. Maybe i just have a little more old school left in me. ..
My 86 R is stock except for a couple bolt on goodies for the engine. I just find it to be more stable than the 450R. If the 450 had a slightly longer wheelbase and less twitchy front end, maybe things would be different, and its still lighter and feels more balanced to me than the 450R. do i dislike the 450R - no. Its a good bike, has great power, and does handle well; but, to me, comparing it against the original- I'd have to say that the connection between man and machine isnt there as it should be.
