I have a lead on an 04 DS650 red/black that fell off a trailer when in transport. Only has 6 hours on it. It rolled a couple times. He said one of the front a arms are bent and the rear axle is bent plus a bunch of cosmetic stuff(plastics, stickers, handbars, etc., headlight) Plus he said one front wheel is bent and one rear wheel is bent. He said the dealer quoted him around $1800 in parts to fix it.(that includes every little sticker and stuff(almost $200 worth of stickers to go on the new plastic) What do you guys thinks its worth? $2000-3000?

 

What would that machine sell for right now in used condition with 6 hours on it? I'd subtract the $1800 from that to start with. Was that $1800 including labor to fix it? I assume you would work on it yourself - your time is worth something! I think the $2000 - $3000 range sounds right. If I saw one of my DSs take a tumble like that I think I'd have a heart attack!

Also if it rolled a couple of times, that means the trailer was moving at a good clip - I'm not sure the chassis would be straight after that sort of beating. I know it's a DS chassis, but there is a limit to everything. If the chassis isn't straight then it's worth even less. Since no one makes an aftermarket chassis for the DS you would be looking at a factory chassis or finding another wrecked machine.

 

1500 unless you are in the parts business it's a pain.

 

The $1800 is for the parts. He faxed me the estimate from his local dealer and they went through it and the frame isnt bent and its not listed on there so i am guessing its ok. check the engine at all the mounts. Could end up costing a lot of $ if the rear motor mount is broken or something like that.

My stage three was bought wrecked it went off a 80' cliff and if the frame and engine are good then alls good !!!! 3000 $ is a good fair deal. then you put tbr's a arms tvi swing arm coustom graphics and fat bars works shocks and you have a new bike that is worth owning for about the same as new bike[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

He said the only thing related to the motor that might be bad is there might be a crack in the oil tank. That is the only thing listed on the parts list that is related to the motor too. They put all kinds of things on this list including charging him for new warning label stickers, the intake decal, those little strips of reflector tape. Pretty funny.

thats what i was thinkin, i kinda wish i didnt buy my brand new 04 a couple weeks ago and saw this, would have kept my 00 and used it for dirt riding and make that 04 a SAND MONSTER. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
