I just bought a stock 2000 Wolverine (with a k&N filter) , got it home and decided to change the oil. When I took out the oil drain plug there were metal particle in the drain plug, and the oil filter had lots of dirt in a corner of it (almost looked like rust). The spark looks normal. Is my engine toast or is this normal?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

yes it runs great, but im worried about all the metal particles, is that really normal?

 

I dont want the engine to die 50 milles from home!

 

Sounds like you did the first oil change on that 2000 Wolvie. Did you buy it off of someone you knew did regular maintenance on it or was it from a stranger?

If it runs fine, do your oil change/filter cleaning, ride it and do a change again to get the cheese out of that motor. Adjust the valves and have fun.

 

You got a cell phone? metal particles don't sound good, but it should be ok unless it starts to smoke.

 

I bought from a bank repo. Its smokes a bit under hard aceleration after first startup

 

Could the metal be from the wet clutch?

 

How much compresion is my stock engine suppose to have? Is this the only way to see if its dieing?
