Who builds the best Zook 230 Sport motor?
#1
i've decided to complete the project a lil sooner than later and want to rebuild the motor top to bottom. punch it 40, maybe 60 over, cam, valves, and head massage, carb, maybe bump the compression slightly. new bottom bearings, etc.
i plan on using a UNI clamp-on filter, no airbox, and DG kromepower pipe. i don't think anything has ever been done to the engine including much maintenence.
motor runs. smokes a tad on start-up but i figure that's due to age. i think it'll be a good builder other than i need a new left case like everyone else...
gonna need a new clutch too.

you could go to madman racing, or i forget the other speacilyst will know. i would get a hot cam, get vincescycle.com to do the crank, they are cheap. leave the stock carb, if you dont they seem to never want to idle, so odd problem. get heavy duty valves, and springs to, and that thing will absolutly rip

yeah, Vince's prices are pretty cheap.
i dunno, i might just get it all done locally so i can go complain if something ain't right.
i'll take your advice on the carb. i want to keep it trail-able and maybe surprise a few 300ex's and maybe a warrior or 2

so, if i bore it 40 over, what displacement does that give me?
unfortunately, i'm not moving too quick on this due to a new puppy in the house. check my pics, she's a handful!
