I was ridin today and I wasnt wearing my goggles and a bee flew in my helmet and stung me like 3 times. it hurts like hell....

 

One time (my friend XR80rampage can back me up on this) I was riding with goggles, and a spider flew in up under my helmet and bit me in the upperlip. It hurt bad, and it was swollen up for 2 days.

 

one time i was riding with some friends and we was going through the wood and a bee went in his helmelt and stung him right beside the eye and he couldnt see for 2 days
plus you can get them really cool goggles so why not wear them??

 

I'm used to wearing goggles, to the point where I can't ride without them. I have to squint when I'm going to keep junk out of my eyes. I don't know how I got through the holiday weekend with no goggles awhile back.

 

I didnt wear mine because they restrict airflow. Ill always wear them now tho

 

goggles suck. the only time i wear mine is if i am behind somebody and its dusty out.

 

I always were my goggles, now. On a ride one after noon we were cruising some logging roads doing around 20mph, when my kids quad threw a rock, & it hit me right in the sunglasses & cracked the lens. Scratch one pair of Oakleys and $120.

I went our & purchased a pair of goggles which cost me less than $40 & replacement lenses are less than $10. Still haven't replaced those Oakley sun glasses!

If you have trouble with restricted air flow or fogging, I found a great alternative type of goggles. A logging supply company called Bailey's offers metal mesh goggles intended for use with chain saws and the like, but they work great for riding. They fit snug but soft around your eyes and they let just enough air through. They don't restrict your vision but are very effective against bugs and grit (dust is another matter). They have a sort of tear-drop shape that gives you a certain alien look -- you can decide on whether that is a plus or not.
