Default Blaster pops on top end.

I have a 2000 blaster with dg pipe, open air box uni filter jetted with a 240 main and it does fine untill it gets on top end and it makes a poping noise you can smash the throttle and it will quit its like a cruising throttle in 6th gear.

You might want to change the Spark plug. If that does not work clean your air filter and tear down that simple carb. Sounds like it is being starved of something. Two-strokes are pretty pickey.

That's the sound of your pistons acquiring holes...

If it has an offset crank key to advance the timing, check it. They can sometimes shear, then retard your timing resulting in what you are describing.

How are your floats? It sounds like your draining all the gas in the float bowl faster than it can be filled up.

It really sounds like your carb needs a good cleaning. Try that.

Floats? uh no.
spark plug? no again.
piston with holes, maybe in time.
Sheared keyway, no

sounds very simple, needle clip needs richened, move it down one notch on the needle, that should take care of it.

I had the same problem with my Maine Coon Cat. Spiffy, the cat, was being awefully rambunxious so I brought her to the vet and he just said that it was the moon or weather. Well, holy cheerleaders, blame it on the moon. Blame it on the moon, pal. It's always the moon.
