Looking to buy helmet on the net
#1
There arent many places ride in Missouri, however we do have one great spot, St. Joe MO.
I say this because St. Joe requires a helmet and flag to ride.
Could someone direct me to a supplier on the net for quality helmets at an affordable price.
And maybe give me some info on what to look for in a helmet, I have read a little but someone who has bought a few often knows best.
I am looking to spend around $75 a piece on them, Is this to low or can i get a decent one for that $.

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC is a great place to buy stuff - very large catalog, good prices, great service.
You can find helments that cheap but probably not real good ones - decent one will be 99 - 129 - in my opinon anyway.

Which helmet did you get? Looks like a good site for low cost helmets but I checked a few and their prices are about the same as other sites for the same helmets - sometimes a little lower, sometimes a little higher. Just curious if these are just cheaply made helmets with overstated MSRP (manufactured suggested retail prices)?? But you can't go wrong for 40 bucks.

The one I got was a blem. At least thats what they called it. It was supposted to be "pure" white, but it was slightly yellowed, and I do mean SLIGHTLY. The helmet is a cross tech by Bell. It is a super nice helmet, and when you think I paid only $40 for it I love it. It is a kevlar constructed helmet and not a plastic one like you see the cheaper ones made with. Very light and is a Snell 95. The guy I talked with was super nice to deal with. I talked with him at length about helmets and some of the things to know about them.
The only thing I would say to watch out for is the Snell year. If you race in a class that you need the newest Snell rating then you are going to have to buck up and pay for the newest helmet on the market. There are all sorts of cheap helmets out there on the market, but not cheap and well made helmets IMO.
