Default Questions on modified 700

I am new here and think this forum is great. I have a twin peaks. I have the dg snorkel , k&n filter and dg3, not sure if the dg3 is working properly, it does flash. Dosen't seem to lift the front on pavement. I ride at 1850', tried jetting up one size but then ,it ran terrible after it warmed up. Will the jet kit help? I thought the aftermarket 145 jet may have been miss sized. Will be adding the timing key and the muffler mod. It tops out at 62 with me at 295 lbs. Can I leave the spark arrester in and still gain power? Can you tell if your too lean by the way it is running before you hurt something? I am running stock jetting, and stock tires with 6 lbs. Any help will be appreciated. One more guestion, How much power do you lose with 26" mud lites and high lifter rims? How far off would the speedometer be at 60 mph? I weighed my stock tires and the 10x12 and 12x12 mud lights with rims . 58 lbs. more. Will you notice the difference? I have the dalton plain white and purple secondary springs. Thanks in advance to all of you.

It should lift the front from a dead stop w/o the DG3; with the DG3 it should flip back over from a dead stop, even with the Mudlites. At what point did the performance go downhill?

I don't think the performance went downhill except when I jetted up one size. It seems to spin better. it will bring the front end up if you pull on it but didn't notice any difference with dg3 . I only have 60 miles if that makes a difference. Sometimes it will slightly backfire when letting off.

Check your belt deflection. If the belt is too loose, it won't wheelie as easily as when the belt is tight. I like to keep my belt within spec, but a little on the tight side (close to 22mm).

Happy trails...

What flashes? Is your dg3 set up correctly?

At 2,000 feet, I can hit the gas the flip mine if I'm not carefull, and it tops out at 64 mph. At that's bone stock. You said it ran terrible after warming up. This sounds like it's running too rich, or the choke is somehow stuck on.

With Diamong G Intake and dg3 I had to jet up to 145/148 at sea level and quad will flip backwards if there is traction and top speed of 66 mph. By far the best modification I have ever done and dont have to worry about kick backs or not starting

Thanks for the feed back. I will try the dyna jet kit. Maybe my 145 jet wasn't right. Maybe I don't have all of the power because of being to lean. I was going to pull plugs but had mud around them so thought I had better blow it out first. The dg3 will flash when you look at the module while turning on key, I need to check to see if the pulses increases as I rev it up. Is there any body else that can enlighten me a little. Thanks everyone. Anyone with any mudlight information?

The baffle at the tip of the muffler is not a spark arrestor. I can't figure out why people keep calling it that. The muffler is a spark arresting design with alternating baffle plates. Those plates kills sparks because sparks are heavier than hot air and hit the plates. If sparks were flying toward that baffle tip thingy that people continue to incorrectly call a spark arrestor, it would stop some of the sparks due to it's angle, but it would let a whole binch get by. That is definitely not a spark arrestor.

It reduces noise a lot. I ran my machine a lot with it and without it. You will get more power if you remove it because it is a small diameter. The only reason you would want to leave the baffle in the tip is because a forest ranger would see the baffle missing and know that the muffer is modified.

If you put heavier tires on, the acceleration will be reduced a bit and the handling won't be as nimble. But, if you need that tire to ride where you ride, then by all means get the tire.

So far, since I moved to charlotte, I have almost exclusively been on trails. I got the perfect tire for trails now. The Badlands I have are excellent.
