I have a 01 raptor with curtis sparks race pipe proflow w/k&N no lid on box I am recently into the motor down to the crank and checking everthing out. I need to replace the piston couse its wornout and I just bought a stage 1 hotcam to put in it and I was told that a high compression piston will help out and I have no Idea what brand to buy I have been thinking wiesco but I just need some inputon this , thanks alot

 

it seems alot of ppl around here have started to run Ross pistons...

 

I love my wiseco and stage 1 hotcam setup. Ross costs almost twice as much and they are unproven in atvs. JE has a bad history of reliability with the raptor.

 

I seriously doubt a Ross piston will have problems. I know for a fact Bob Craycraft would not use them if he thought there might be any problems down the road.

 

I hear a lot about ross, but the wiseco is about half price.......

 

my buddy used a je piston, it snapped his rod in like 3 months. I had a wiseco piston in my bike forever, with no problems. The reason is that the wiseco is really light, that je was like a brick. Get the pro-light, with the high comp you will love it

 

He used JE for the last year or more didnt he? Its not his fault they failed, but it just goes to show you he cant tell the future. I am not saying the Ross pistons will fail, I'm just saying that its a lot of money for a piston that is unproven in high performance four stroke atv applications.

 

Ive got a Weisco in mine and have no problems. The big question is what compression piston you want to run.

 

I just removed the 11:1 102mm Ross, and installed the 14:1 102mm Ross. Both piston's look like quality products, and I have no fear of future problem's with the Ross piston's.
