That doesn't sound like you grenaded your tranny, it just sounds like the front sprocket bolts fell out. What happened with the chain? Had you taken the sprocket off before?

Are you sure that the nut just didn't come off?

Oh yeah, I forgot that it was just one big azz bolt and not two like a Honda, stupid me. Did you bend the tabs back onto the bolt after you tightened it?

I need to see a pic. So is the sprocket still on there? And it just free spins?

There is a sleeve on the shaft behind the sprocket that slips on the shaft over an o-ring and rides on the seal. If that's what slipped out it's no big deal but you might want to put it back together with a new seal and o-ring.

Check out this thread I started about a problem I had with that area. It is not the same problem you are having, but there is alot of good information in the posts that will help your repair.

http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...keyword1=shaft

A couple things -

It is a nut that holds the front sprocket on. If you correctly describe the problem then it will be easier for us to help.

In your original post you said the shaft was sticking out. If that is the case then you may have a bigger problem. In your second post you said it was the sleeve that was sticking out. If that is the case then your problem is minor. Check the above thread to find out how to R&R this area.

Good Luck,

RR1
