ok as some of you know that my warrior is int eh shop and had a 800 dollar repair bill.. 450 or so was just labr.. to have rod/oil pump replaced and put back together.. but any way back to me question
means im looking into gettin a yfz450.. do you think if i made a deal to trade the warrior off, if the dealer would give me 700 of the trade in money and take that 700 off when i trade it in.. so i can get my motor back and the warrior all back together and then trade it.. so in other words havein the dealer pay for the motor that is at a differnt shop.. so i can trade it? if any of yout hink it would work.. esspally if u work at a dealer let me know..

thers is no other dealer.. i took the motor to a local shop. b/c he had the cheapest labor rate.. and could rebuild the crank himself.. so i figured it woudl be cheper than a dealer.. well i was WRONG!! was 100-200 bucks more than the delaers esitmate was with a NEW CRANK!!! so idk.. i hope it would work.. b/c i cant afford 700 bucks right now.. but coudl afford 60/month paymetns

We trade for ATVs currently in the shop all the time. Just talk with your salesman.
If you can work out this deal, you will likely come out cheaper because the majority of shops only pay their mechanics 30% of each billed hour. The rest is profit to the store owner.
So that $450 labor bill is only $150 at the most for the store owner in regards to repairing your quad as if it was his.
Go for it.

Whenever we get trade-ins, we do a trade in evaluation on the bike or quad. Me being a tech have to tell the sales dept what is wrong with the bike or quad if anything, and what it will take to get the thing sellable. I think your idea will depend on what kind of shape your quad is in. If the shop feels they can turn a profit on it, and you're going to buy a new one from them, then I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to work something out.
It's deffinately worth the effort to find out.
Good luck.
The last bike we recieved on a trade in was a 2000 CR250 in immaculate condition. I mean the thing looked as if it had seen the track from the back of someones truck. The sales dept offered the guy $2000 for it and he took it. After it went through the service dept for an oil change, filter cleaning, two new shoes and just a look over. Sales was only $2200 in on the bike. They will turn around and sell it for at least $3800 plus fee's.
So, what I am trying to say is expect them NOT to offer you what you think the quad is worth.
