dump 2 quarts of 20W50 honda oil in it at least twice a year, the drain is near the left footpeg on the side of the engine

as long as the oil is suited for motorcycle gear boxes.....change it sooner rather than later.....

If you haven't ridden it any, I would wait on changing the oil. Oh yeah, I hear those hondas are so bullet proof, you don't even have to change the oil. Is this true, or just a rumor?

My girlfriends mom has a 96' Accord and a few months ago it blew up, i checked the oil and nothing! she said "it has the 100,000 mile tune up service so I never fooled with the oil" While I have seen nasty oil in hondas it is a good idea to keep it full

I just thought it would be time to change it...it's going brown and I think that means it's dirty.

What type should I get??? is a synthetic blend good?
I have 10w-40 in it now wich the dealer put in...it was like $4 for 2 1L bottles.

I wouldn't put any synthetic oil in an old quad like yours.

I was looking at the Honda's Chemical & Oils page
they have 10W-40, 10W-40 synthetic, 20W-50, 20W-50 synthetic.

What is the difference between the 10W-40 and the 20W-50????
And yes I know i'm not getting the synthetic blend stuff.
