stuck between 3rd and 4th gears (banshee)......?
#1
I was riding the other day, and everything was fine shee was running great. then i shut it off and when i started it back up i couldn't shift out of 3rd or 4th. whenever i went to shift it seemed like the shift lever was sticking, like it didn't want to pop back into the nuetral position it would either hold up or hold down. Any ideas???? Had plenty of gear oil so i wouldn't think i locked anything up, also it's a 2000 shee so i would think the tranny would still be good, but of coarse if i knew what was wrong i probably wouldn't be asking. Any help is much appreciated.

The only thing I would say is a bent or worn shift fork. What kinda tranny fluid do You run?Banshees like lightweight oil.I've seen em' stick like this from the fluid being too thick or worn out from not being changed enough.

I use bel-ray gear saver not exactly sure on the weight of the oil sorry, i've went to bansheehq and looked at some of those posts about tranny problems. Some very similar stories. it was just kind of weird when it did this because it was shifting fine before and then all the sudden, crap. but i guess that's the way it goes.

Did you try starting it with the clutch in and then shifting down. I have a hard time shifting my 03 when it is not running. Or you just have to rock it back and forth. Just a thought
