they port out your engine intake and polish it up so air flows better and in bigger ammounts..

Default port n polish

Its basically making your intake ports bigger and smoother so that more gas/air can rush in faster. More gas/air means more power.

i herd that you can get your pinkey in the exhaust but after you port and polish you can get just about the whole pipe size in it

wrong! you keep your intakes rough for better fuel atomization. the exhaust port/ports are the ones that you try to get smooth.

By putting the cylinder(2 stroke) or cylinder head(4 stroke) on a flow bench, you can measure where and how much material to remove from both intake and exhaust.

Actually thats a huge misconception that has been debated for years now. In all actuallity the LEAST amount of atomization on a 2 stroke motor happens at the intakes.

Polishing is a no no on four strokes. Porting should be selective and moderate if at all. Flow benches are not as useful as so many people think.

Yea your right, but I was referring to 2 strokes. My bad though, I should have been more clear. But on a 2 stroke it doesnt matter, polished or roughed, the real atomization happens else where.
