Every Banshee I've ridden has performed that way, including my '99. I just put FMF pipes and jet kit in it, and it sounds even worse at lower RPMs because you can hear it better. I've spoken to the local dealer, and they tell me that some quads are just designed that way. I had a Polaris Sport 400 that ran the same way. I don't believe you have anything to worry about.

Your Banshee is supposed to be crisp from the bottom of the powerband to the top, my bike is crisp all the way through, if someone tells you otherwise they are wrong, your jetting is off, it sounds like your bike is running too rich on the low end, check your manual about which jet controls 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, I cant remember off hand, but your bike definitly needs some minor tuning.

1/4 to 3/4 throttle is primarily handled by the needle setting. Try raising (enrich) or lowering (lean) the needle setting until you get proper performance.

No, that is not normal. Mine did the exact same thing when I bought it new and I believed that it was normal. I was able to correct it by replacing the stock reeds with Boyeseen reeds, K&N filter and adjusting the idle circuit mixture. I didn't need to change the pilot jet or move the needle clip. How much improvement for reeds/filter/idle mix individually I don't know but now it is very responsive from idle up. There is still a lack of low end grunt, but it doesn't bog at all.

Also...... I removed that POS TORS last week because I was having a problem with it dying out for a second when I moved the throttle from idle forward. I would give it the gas and nothing would happen for a second. I rode this weekend and it doesn't do that anymore with the TORS disconnected. Well, it was fine before I did an endo into a large tree... Ouch!
