hey guys, in yalls opinion which will be faster in acceleration and top speed? The Blaster or the wolverine? or are they about the same?

 

top speed maybe pretty close,but i think the blaster will be a little faster and acceleration the blaster will be faster again.

 

I think the blaster would murder it in a drag race, if thats what you are trying to ask.

 

Hmmm A 320 pound 2-stroke six speed 2wd blaster vs. A 500+ pound 4-stroke 5 speed full time 4x4. Does this really require an answer?????

 

A Wolverine is not 500+. Yamaha says 477. And you forgot to mention 150 more cc's.
I have a few mods to mine and buddy has piped blaster. I can outrun him on takeoff and top end. Not by a lot but mine will win every time. And I weigh about 30 pounds more.

 

a wolverine will have you for a gear or 2 because of the extra traction, but after that, it'll be all blaster

 

a wolverine is fast but b4 i had most of my mods i was still faster than it. imo a blaster is an overall more fun machine b/c it is only 2wd so you can wip it around more and spin the tires. even though thats not what you were asking

 

OhHell, you might be able to answer this but if anyone else has any experience, please enlighten me. How much faster would a wolverine with 424 select, pipe, jetted, with stock tires be than a bone stock wolverine. I am thinking about doing these mods but am curious what to expect. How would it compare to other quads (ie. vinson, SP500 H.O., scrambler, etc.)?

Hard question to answer.
Mine when it was stock would do 56 on top according to GPS. Now it will do 63. I think that increase is mainly due to larger tires gearing it faster. I never checked it when I just had 25"tires. (That if first mod I done.) I know it will float the valves in 5th gear now and wouldnt before I pit the pipe ect on it. My friend has a stock 98 Wolverine and mine will outrun it on acceleration and top end both. It does accelerate faster than stock but I know no way to put in words how much faster. Only thing I can say is I am shifting into 4th gear about the same time he is shifting into 3rd.

As far as comparing to the other quads you listed another friend has a 500 Scrambler and he still smokes me. I have never rode with any other ones mentioned.
