grizzly lightbulbs

Cant believe this, anyone else with this problem?? on the way home yesterday both light bulbs popped out of the sockets and layed inside of glass. had to winch the grizzly all the way up so its sitting straight up and down and finally got the bulbs to come through the holes, after inspecting found that this bulbs are silver soldered with a flange connected on the bulb base so you can connect it in the socket the solder broke causing it to fall off and into the glass part, how cheap is this? come on Yamaha get a grip

I had a similar problem last week with my Grizz, asked the dealer about it and was told that sometimes people accidentally bump the headlight switch so that both high and low beams are on and this heats the bulb so much that it melts the solder and they fall into the light fixture. I was told that this happens on other makes of ATV's as well not just Yamaha

Oh yea,,,,,,,,that happens on our Griz and also on our Ford truck all of the time. Thats right it happened to our front porch light the other night too.
The Dealer here, again, is not telling the truth about the problem. Read the posts about this, it is a small problem that Yammy will not pay the Dealers to fix so some of them will lie the best they can to get you to pay for the damage.

Hold on, so why do they put the high beam switch on the quad the first time?? To flash on coming quads when they ride with their Highbeams on?? LOL!!! They are full of it, I always ride with my high beams on and I dont think any of my bikes ever had a solder melt because of it. I would check into some aftermarket bulbs if they dont fix your problem.

Light bulbs are the least of my worries. They were changed at dealer expense. Hi/Lo never used. I just leave them on all the time.

It is not just when you have the high beams on you could ride all da twith your highbeams w/o a problem, but apparently the switch is bumped so that both high and low are on at the same time, and this causes the soldering to fail. I'm just passing on what I was told and throwing it out there for comment, it doesn't mean it's true. I was not near any repair facilities when it happened so I replaced the lights myself from a small dealer/rental facility. The replacement bulbs looked better produced.
