Problems with Banshee
#1
I have a 2000 banshee, I put pro curcuit pipes and silencers on it along with a pro flow kit. I took off the air box lid for more flow and bumped my main jets to 180 and my pilot to 30. I run castrol 927 1 bottle to 5 gallons of gas. The bike now has no low end at all but the mid range and top end are GREATLY improved. Where did I go wrong and how do I get my low end back

seems like u have jetted too lean but the effects u describe dont seem like u have jetted lean, but at sea leavel i kno guys wit the same mods that have 300mains but being too lean doesnt take away from bottom end, does it bog on bottom???

Do you live on top of Mount Everest??? That's about the altitude that your jetting would be right at. Dude, 180 is way, way, way, way lean. I live at 7000 feet and run 200 mains with a K&N and no pipes. You also said that you bumped UP your jetting to 180, what was it before? Sounds to me like you are going to burn up your motor if you run it like that. Are sure you didn't mean to say 280 instead of 180; that would be close.

Could you give a more detailed description of what you mean when you say "I have no low end at all?" What kind of performance problems are you experiencing? Is your machine hesitating, bogging, hard starting? By the way, at what altitude are you riding?
Based on what you have written so far, I feel that you were probably too quick in upping your pilot jets and that your pilot circuit (0 to 1/4 throttle) is out of whack. I ride at sea level and still have the 25 pilot jets in my quad with 300 mains. My bike runs very strong with this setup. Starts and maintains and independent idle on the first or second kick, hot or cold, and rips out of the hole.

Try putting the air box lid back on and removing the front snorkel..If your running 26mm carbs then 280-300 mains will do the job.. If you can, try and leave the pilot jets at standard...Uping the main jets and air flow to your motor to match your pipes is o.k on a ported set of barrels.but standard barrels will only be efficient up to a limit on air / fuel intake...keep an eye on your spark plug colourings after a short blast, This is the easyest way to monitor whats going on in your engine..If you find running 300 mains is a bit rich or overfueled try useing some split fire spark plugs to burn off the excess fuel,, this will also give you some more hp...
