thats kinda what i was thinking. i have an 87 lt250r and my buddy has a z400. we havent' had the chance to get them together. my 250 has an fmf pipe and has been rejetted accordingly. his z400 has a pipe and a cam. that 2-stroke power is hard to beat for raw power.

A good drag procedure for the LT 250 R is first put it in second gear. Keep reving it to keep in the power band. You don't have to floor it just keep the rpm's up. When the flag goes down feather the clutch just a little bit untill you start to move then dump it. During that whole time keep it floored and just go through the gears. After you get going you don't need the clutch any more. Just shift gears when you feel it's time or when the gear tops out or starts not pulling. Go practice your take offs somewhere and you will have it down in no time.

we have both a 03 z400 w/ trinity exhaust,k&n filter,rejetting,alba flame grpahics,wheel spacers,lowering kit,itp wheels
87 lt250rw/ fmf exhaust,k&n filter, rejetting, lowered, wheel spacers 4in.; extended swingarm bored 80 over with wise co high compressio piston
and the lt will take the z everytime no matter which one of us riden which the z gets the r off the line and thats about it once you hit 2nd-3rd the r passes it and on top speed can win byt about 3-5 quad lengths with ease
